Why do the construction calculators add a waste factor?+

Because real jobs consume more material than the geometry suggests. Uneven subgrade, cuts at edges, breakage, and form flex all add up, and running short mid-job is far more costly than a modest surplus.

What are decimal hours?+

Hours with minutes expressed as a fraction: 7 hours 30 minutes is 7.5 decimal hours, not 7.30. Payroll systems use this format, and confusing the two is a common and costly error.

Do the date calculators handle leap years?+

Yes, including the full rule — years divisible by 4 are leap years except century years, unless those are divisible by 400. That is where manual counting most often goes wrong.
