Days are an unambiguous unit, which is why they are the base measure here. Weeks are exactly seven days, so that conversion is exact. Months are not — they range from 28 to 31 days — so a month figure derived from a day count is always an approximation, typically using an average of 30.44 days.
For durations spanning years, calendar arithmetic gives a more meaningful answer than day division. Someone born in June 1990 is a specific number of years and months old in calendar terms, which is not quite the same as their day count divided by 365.25. Which measure you want depends on whether you are counting elapsed time or calendar intervals.
